So umm...
It's been over a week since I posted on here.
My main excuse is school...
Homework, specifically. I've had NO free-time at all, for the past 2 weeks. And at the off chance I get some, I just want to sit down and do nothing.
Do any of you feel like school controls your life, even when you're at home? Any tips on how to handle this? How I can balance schoolwork and still have time to do other stuff?
~Tenley
I had the same problem!! And I have a solution, it sure worked for me! :)
ReplyDeleteI started by doing homework when I had free time at school, or a study hall. Instead of chatting (although it's more fun) you should work instead.
If that doesn't work, try this. Over the weekend, make a homework day. Like Saturday. And make sure all your homework is done BEFORE Sunday! Then you can make Sunday a day of rest. As God intended it to be. :)
Hope this helped!

That's helpful, doing homework in study hall, but I never understand the lesson of the day when it comes to math, so I have to watch a video or something on it when I get home. I don't really know why this is, it just seems as if when I'm in a classroom, everything the teacher says just sounds like jibberish.
DeleteIdk, man. Pray to all the gods that u get less homework?
ReplyDeleteThere's really not much to do about it. Your grades and you relaxing is much more important than dolls. (Unless, of course, your blog is the only social interaction you get for the whole day, in which case you could always talk to me or whomever.)
That's true but ugh. Homework... BLEEEEH!
DeleteHi Tenley! I feel that whenever I have a day that I don't have anything (like an open/empty Saturday) I start taking pictures and schedule a ton of posts for the next weeks. I also just wanted to tell you that I have a giveaway up on my blog! I would love it if you could enter! :p

That works for me sometimes, but it certainly is time-consuming. I'd enter but I'm not allowed to enter online giveaways, sorry!
DeleteDon't ever worry about not posting. School is important, and I know it seems a lot right now, but you'll get used to it. When I first started highschool a couple of months ago I was FREAKING OUT because I was so scared! Now, I'm getting used to my new schedule and it's not too bad. I admit, my blog is more neglected then in the Summer. But that's okay. It's how life is right now.
ReplyDeleteAs for all that homework-sometimes I think it's unneeded, but try to make it enjoyable by putting on some music and making yourself a nice hot cup of something! Also, make sure you reward yourself-perhaps checking up on your favorite blogs or social media for 20 minutes each hour you do homework. You could use photography as a reward as well-you could put out some outfits on the weekend so your photoshoots are easier to put together quickly.
Sorry for the long comment-all in all you've probably heard all the advice above. But if you ever need to rant, shoot me an email or a comment!
~Kathryn
I know, I know, but I MISS blogging. I MISS playing with my dolls. I feel bad as well, but mainly I just want to blog, and I can't!
DeleteActually, your advice was quite different, with ways to enjoy homework opposed to ways to get it done.
Thank you for your support.
~Tenley
I miss it too! This advice really helped, it can be so frustrating trying to juggle school, homework, dance, dolls/blogging and sewing.
Deletejust be glad you aren't in marching band, haha. ;)
ReplyDeletei'm horrible at giving advice, but i agree with kathryn's thought of giving yourself 20 minutes of free time for every hour you do homework. it'll make it easier to get through, and motivate you to get it done. :) and perhaps on weekends you can set aside time in your day just to go take some pictures or do your dolls' hair, or something else along those lines.
and yeah, don't ever feel bad for not posting. i understand missing it though—that's been me for the past two months or so. :3
Thanks for the advice Maddie. ;)

What I do is I get home, take 3:00 to 4:00 to do whatever I want, then I work on my homework until dinner. After dinner if I still have more homework I work on immediately and I usually get done by 7:00 then I can take a shower, then I can have free time to do whatever I want until bedtime.
ReplyDeleteI can't do that because I don't get out of school until 4, and then the drive home takes about 40 minutes. I suppose I could take 4:45-5:00 to do what I want, and then take 6-8 to do homework, but I'd have to eat dinner at some point and I hardly ever finish HW in under 2 hours at the least.
