I got an award! :D

Hi!
Recently, Marissa from Seven Bloggers And Their Dolls nominated me for the "You're a great photographer!" award. Thank you Marissa! So... Let's get started!
Woah... giant picture.

The Rules
1. Nominate 3-7 bloggers for this award and give links to their blogs.
2.If you were nominated, give 1 photography tip and answer the questions given.
3.Comment on a post of the person you nominated, letting them know.
4.Copy the photo onto your post.
5. Link your post back to the original post.

My photography tip: Background is extremely important! Nobody wants to see pictures of your doll  in front of a random beige wall! Some backgrounds I like are: Wrapping paper backdrop, Tall grass, Dandelions, Trees, and so many more! Be creative, and remember, nature is beautiful!

Q1: What is your favorite book?
I have SO many! I love all the Percy Jackson books, as well as The Hunger Games. I also LOVE classics like Where The Red Fern Grows, and Little Women.

Q2:What is your favorite Icecream flavor?
Cookie dough! Mmm... With chocolate chips...

Q3:What profession would you like to pursue when you're older?
I dream of becoming an author, but I'd also love doing some equine profession.

Q4:Does your handwriting look better in pencil or marker?
Probably pencil, although I've never done a comparison.

Q5: What does the fox say?
Well, logically I'd have to say "Ruff arrrr yiiiiiip!" But I am aware that the song suggests something more like, "BANGDADADAEEEERRREEEEEERRR!".

Q6:Swimming or sledding?
While I have been sledding in Colorado on vacation, where I live it hasn't snowed since 1984, so I'll go with swimming.

Q7:If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is around, does it make a sound?
Well, yes. It just fell. But the location of the woods does change this. See, if this tree was on the moon, than it would make no sound, but if it was on Earth, it would most likely be quite loud.

Q8:Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog because I love photography and needed a place to share it and compare it to other's.

I nominate...
Gwen (Alone in Doll World)
Bella (A Doll's Life)
Lydia (Silver Creek Dolls)

:) Hope you guys enjoyed this post! I'll comment on my nominee's blogs later. Also, I'm not sure who does awards and who doesn't, so don't feel obligated to do this! Thanks for reading, bye!

Kit Likes Trees (A Photoshoot)

Yes, I know... weirdest title ever. I am quite happy right now, one because our wifi came back on, and two because I am currently sipping on a Starbucks caramel ribbon crunch frappuccino. I love Starbucks... Anyway! Back to the post! As mentioned in a previous post, I recently purchased 3 OG outfits, one of which I reviewed. I didn't really want to do a complete review on the others, but I decided since Kit looked so darling in her new outfit, I'd take her out for a photoshoot. I tried to do this yesterday, but it was EXTREMELY windy. So, today I decided I would attempt once again, and I ended up with some decent photos. I edited a few, just because I was playing with the filters on my phone's camera.

As you can see, I took tons of photos! I actually took more, but I was too lazy to upload all of them. For some reason, when I put the pictures on my computer, the filters were removed. I had a few in black and white and other fun things, so I'm kind of annoyed, but oh well. As for my thoughts on the outfit, I think it's super cute! The only downsides are that the headband is nearly impossible to get on the doll, and the shoes are... not the greatest. This set also came with a green jacket, which I like, but it does not match the rest of the outfit. Overall, I'd rate it 4/5 stars. I have to go now, but be sure to go enter in my 20 Followers Contest! Until next time,

The Doll Family Of 7~ Molly

Hi! I was inspired by Adi and Leah to do this post. I feel like my doll's personalities are unknown to you... despite the "All My Dolls" page. Hopefully, this series of posts will help with that. Today, you will learn all about Molly, my dear first doll. And you will learn about her from... The other dolls!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Emily: That's her. The amazing, wonderful, MOLLY!!!!
Molly: Yep... That's me.
Emily: Molly is my best friend. (And my adopted sister)

Isabelle: Molly doesn't have  much of a style... She likes fancy dresses, but is usually just in casual shorts and t-shirts.
Emily: She's beautiful anyway!
Isabelle: I didn't say she wasn't... but she could put a bit more effort in.
Ruthie: That's enough! Molly's pretty, now let's get on with the post!
Molly: Thank you, Ruthie.

Kit: Me and Molly get along pretty well, because we both like the outdoors!
Molly: Yep, climbing trees is pretty awesome.
Saige: I agree!

Isabelle: With me and Molly, we don't talk much... because we don't have much in common. But when we're filming Lands Of Lorvias, you'd think we'd be BFF's!
Molly: That's true. Remember that time when I forgot all my lines, so you just pretended to zap me with your wand?
Isabelle: Oh yeah... That was hilarious!

Saige: Molly's always been your average neighborhood girl, always playing outside with all the kids on the street.
Kit: Yeah, the picture above is of Molly's old friend Anna. They would always play with chalk on the sidewalk together before Anna moved to Tokyo.
Molly: I miss Anna... And I haven't even got to talk to her since she left because she's still on a boat on the way there!

(That's true, Anna is my former neighbor Meg's doll, and is still shipping to her in Tokyo.)

Grace: In the short time I've been in this family, I've learned that Molly can always be counted on.
Isabelle: I know that Molly will always be there for me when I need a friend.
Ruthie: Molly can always make me laugh when I'm upset.
Kit: Molly is ready for an adventure anytime.
Saige: Molly is compassionate, and is always ready to help.
Emily: Molly is a girl with a big heart and will always be my best friend.
Molly: Aww... Thanks guys! I love you too!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Molly was my first doll and because of that she will always be special to me. I hope you enjoyed this post! If you haven't already, be sure to go enter my 20 Followers Contest! Bye guys!

20 Followers Contest!

Hello everyone!
I have shared the news with you before, but in case you didn't hear, I recently hit 20 followers! *Blasts Confetti Cannon*
I decided that much like EverythingAG, I will be holding a 20 follower contest! I actually have 21 now, but that's okay. :) So, here are the rules....

1.You must be following me, I'm hosting this for my lovely followers who make this blog possible. :)
2. You have to post the picture thingy on your blog.
3. You have to have fun! :)

Okay, here's how it'll work. For 1 month from the start of the competition, I will give you a theme each week. For example, a theme may be... Friends. Whatever the theme is, you can compete in 3 ways, you can either use writing, photography, or art. So, if you want to use writing for the theme friends, you could write a story about two amazing friends, or for photography you could take a photoshoot of your doll's together, and for art you could draw two girls playing together... I think you get the idea. I will post the first challenge June 5th, a day after I get out of school. Each week, I will rate your entry from 1 point to 10 points. (1 being worst and 10 being best) Basically, at the end, whoever has the most points wins! I hope you guys enter... if you want to participate though, you need to tell me my June 1st. Please post on your blog saying you will be competing, and then comment here that you did. I can't wait, but I am a bit worried no one will enter... Please do! If you need any further explanation, feel free to ask questions in the comments! Bye!

Challenge #2 For EverythingAG's 10 Follower Contest

Hey!
Sorry I didn't post this weekend, I was super-super busy! Today I will be posting my entry for challenge #2 of EverythingAG's 10th follower contest. I posted challenge 1 on my personal blog, (Wild Among The Flowers). This week's theme is: What do you love about the AG online community?

I love AG.
I love blogging.
But that's not all,

Even though I love AG,
I almost gave it up.

People always tell me,
"You're too old for dolls!"
And there was a time when I believed them.

But then I found AGtube,
And that led to the AG blogging community.

I commented occasionally on other people's blogs,
And they all told me,
"You're NOT too old for dolls!"
So I got my dolls back out again.

For that I owe you guys.
THAT is why I love AG blogging.

Thanks so much for reading everyone! Have a great day! Bye!

OG Outfit Review

Hi! I'm back!
Friday I went to Target, and I stopped by the Our Generation section. I am actually not a fan of the OG line, but there was a sale and a few o-k outfits. I got three outfits for my dolls (Each was 10$), two of which I forgot the names of. The only one I know is Jumping For Joy, which is the outfit I will be reviewing today!

Here is an overview. Cute for $9.99, isn't it?

The main piece of the set is this adorable romper.

The romper is a nice material, with a very detailed floral pattern. I love the lace at the top, and it gives it quite a trendy look. With velcro in the back, this jumper is easy-on easy-off, and the velcro is not noticeable when on the doll!

Next, the shoes. Sorry for the awful photo.

Not much to say about these... They are your average cheap, rubber OG shoes. Why rubber?! Do you wear rubber shoes? I mean, complete rubber, hard, plastic shoes?

Here we have the cardigan.

It is red. It has a small Our Generation tag on the side. The material surprised me, it is not stretchy or wool-like, it is more of a net-material, like Isabelle's Coral Sweater.

This is the scarf.

I like it because it covers up the cloth part of the doll. Otherwise it is just a plain, striped scarf. It has velcro in the back, which actually makes it sort of difficult to put on the doll.

Overall, this is a pretty good outfit! I would rate it 4/5 stars. For the price I got it for, it was definitely worth the money! I recommend this set, except for the shoes. I hope to do a review on the other outfits I got soon! Have a nice day! Bye!

A Break From Dolls...

Don't worry, it's just for the weekend! :) I'm just going to my Dad's like I do every other weekend, and don't feel like bringing my dolls. I'm going to be trying to post on Wild Among The Flowers though! So be sure to follow my personal blog to keep up with me this weekend. ;) I really need a new header for Wild Among The Flowers... Right now I just have a generic one. Kathryn, if you're reading this, could you help me with that?

Caption That Picture!

You know what to do. ;) Have fun, be creative, winner will be announced in 1 week! Here's your picture:

How to curl your doll's hair

Hi!!! It's pouring down with rain here. I mean it literally knocked a brick off the school building's roof! We've been in a drought for like 5 years though, so I guess it's a good thing. I almost posted a picture of the raindrops on my window... but then I saw this-

:P

Anyway... a lot of you said you wanted to see how I got Saige's wonderful curls... And so here's a tutorial! It should work on dolls with any length of hair, curly, semi-curly, or wavy! For your materials you'll need a wire hairbrush, a spray bottle, and lots of bobby-pins.

First, get a section of your doll's hair and thoroughly brush through it. The longer your doll's hair is, the larger the piece should be. (Mine here is a bit too big, actually.)

Then, twist your doll's hair like you do when finger-curling.

After that, wrap your piece of hair in a tight coil on top of your doll's head. (Like a bun)

Make more of these, using all of your doll's hair. Remember, the tighter and smaller the better.
When you're done, you should have a doll that looks somewhat like...this:
Ugly? Yes. But not for long! Spray your doll's hair with water, leave it for at least 24 hours... And then you will have a doll with gorgeous just-came-out-of-the-box curls!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial! See ya!

Saige's New and improved.... curly hair!

Hi! I recently curled Saige's hair, and so today I took her out for a photoshoot! I just got back from the beach by the way. ;) If you want to know how I curled her hair, just ask me in the comments and I'll do a tutorial. Anyway, here's Saige!

Those took Forever to upload! I hope you like them! ;) Which one is your favorite? And would you like to see how to curl your doll's hair like I did to Saige? That method works wonders, I promise. So... Until next time,

Never Too Old For Dolls!

Hi.
I just saw something very, very, VERY upsetting. AGDTime is deleting her blog and all social media accounts. She says she doesn't like dolls anymore. Is that not sad? I just want everyone out there to hear this: If you love dolls, you DO NOT need to give them up! I get teased plenty for loving dolls, and even my dad thinks I'm too old for them. You know what I do? I ignore them. DON'T be ashamed of your hobby. Everyone is different. Do any of you miss PicturePerfectAG, Pleasant Piper, or TheBestLovedDolls? I know I do. And I'm going to miss AGDTime a whole lot. So, the moral of this post is, YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE!

Hey! Quick question/You pick!

Hey Peeps! No,  I don't have anything special... no Lands Of Lorvias, no dollhouse tour... not even a photoshoot. Sorry. I do however, have a question! I am going to the coast/beach this weekend, and I want to bring some dolly friends! (As always!). Anywho, I'm not sure who to pick! Mind helping me out? Of course you don't! Just in case you don't remember which dolls I have, I'll list them below. If you want more info on each doll, click here. Okay, here's the list. :)

  • Molly
  • Emily
  • Saige
  • Kit
  • Ruthie
  • Isabelle
  • Grace
I can't wait to see who you choose! Also, I'm am SUPER excited because my only friend that likes dolls will be at the coast with me! I barely ever get to see her, and when I do I love it because all of my other friends have "Grown Out Of" dolls. She has 3 AG dolls, Julie, Kirsten, and Saige. She also has a pair of Bitty Twins.  Enough of my babbling, please comment who you'd like to see best! I can manage 3 dolls, but I will most likely only bring 2. Only suggest up to 3 dolls please. :) Most voted for dolls get to come with me! Bye!

I'm Sorry!

I'm sorry I haven't had time for blogging lately. :( We are doing a week long trial for a new horse, it started Sunday and so I'm trying to get lots of riding in this week. I've been really busy in general since we're selling the house and well... I just wanted to apologize, and let you know that I probably won't be posting this week. I might, but the chances are slim. I hope you guys understand. I'll be back soon though! Until then, be sure to go vote on "Name That Doll!"! Thanks for reading, bye!

Some Edited "Custom Dolls"

Hi! If you follow EverythingAG (owned by Watermelon and Rasberry) Then you just saw a tutorial for editing doll photos to resemble custom dolls. If you didn't, then basically you can get pictures of two dolls, and put them together to create a "custom" doll! I made quite a few, so here they are!
